An ethnomedicinal survey of plants used in treating sexually transmitted diseases in Akoko Region of Ondo State, Nigeria was carried out in this study. A total of 39 plant species that belongs to 25 families are used for the cure of STDs in the study area. Though various parts of the plants were used for the cure of STDs but the leaves constituted the part that was mostly utilized. Three types of STDs-Gonorrhea, Syphilis and Candidiasis-were recognized by the respondents. The frequencies of their occurrence were, however, skewed toward Gonorrhea hence respondents were versed on the cure of this disease than the others.
