Meta-governance represents a transformative approach to modern governance by integrating physical, augmented, and virtual realities to redefine public service delivery. This paper examines the potential of the metaverse in enhancing accessibility, transparency, and citizen engagement in India’s governance ecosystem. By analyzing key models of e-governance, including broadcasting, critical flow, comparative analysis, e-advocacy, and interactive services, the study highlights the opportunities for leveraging immersive technologies like blockchain, virtual reality, and augmented reality. Challenges such as the digital divide, energy constraints, and privacy concerns are explored, along with policy recommendations to address them. The findings underscore the potential of meta-governance to bridge governance gaps, foster inclusivity, and set new benchmarks for citizen-centric governance in India.
