The HR Processes are heavily affected by the recession, but the HRM Function has to take this as an opportunity to change and to bring new ideas on the scene. As the world economy has been, by and large, plagued by global economic meltdown; this has created from a broad perspective challenges and opportunities for HR professionals.
The recession is the best time to design a completely new approach of the organization to its human capital. This paper attempts to highlight various issues and dimensions of HRM during and after the time when organizations experienced market upheaval posed by recession.
The present paper aims to first summarize the best practices followed by companies that successfully weathered the downturn and then appreciate the emerging management innovations that continue to emerge in a post recession world.
