Abstract

MNC's transcending national boundaries are increasing. Companies need to understand the importance of cultural integration required between various departments for smooth functioning of the system. Globalization demands that managers stay abreast of economic, social and political trends globally, and understand the implications of these trends for their organizations. Cultural differences modify the external environment (Cultural, PEST factors) that adds complexities in the tasks of selecting, training and managing employees.

Organizations must learn how to work across borders, if they have to survive and flourish in various countries with diverse cultures and backgrounds. MNC's in India have accepted the concept of expatriates that means more employees are being sent overseas on temporary assignments. They face unique challenges when the cultural setup is different. A large percentage of expatriate assignments fail because of poor selection, lack of cultural training, etc. In this paper attempt has been made to give a perspective on cross culture Human resources.

Intercultural dialogue is the best guarantee of a more peaceful, just and sustainable world. - Robert Alan
