Abstract

This paper includes the study of Remote sensing data, especially satellite data, when processed through image processing techniques, play a powerful role in planning and management of natural resources for their optimum utilization. The increasing demand for spatial data i.e. latest road/rail network, land use/land cover maps, soil conservation maps and other processed/interpreted maps from satellite images in today's context, have given rise to the development of Image Processing Software's, meeting the demands for the various applications at different level of users. Digital Image Processing is concerned with the manipulation and analysis of Digital Images with the help of computers. It is one of the methods for processing of data from satellites. Transformation converts data from spatial domain to a two-dimensional frequency using a transformation algorithm. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is a DFT algorithm, which reduces the number of computations from something on the order of N02 to NO log NO. IPSNIC is windows based image processing software developed in VC + +. It provides user to apply various classifications, filter operations, enhancement on remotely sensed satellite image. We are performing FOURIER TRANSFORMATION on satellite images using IPSNIC and then applying FAST FOURIER technique to see the changes.
