Abstract

e-National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) is an initiative implemented with the objective of having ‘One nation, one market’, which will unite all the regulated markers under APMC through single electronic platform for transparent price discovery, single license for traders across different markets and single point levy of market fee, together going to enhance the market competitiveness. Another economic reforms of the decade, GST( Goods and Services tax) launched with the aim of achieving ‘one nation, one tax’ will going to boost the national market by subsuming all kinds of center and state taxes along with provision made for input tax credit will reduce the burden of multiple tax on traders and encourage inter-state trading. Karnataka being the pioneer state in market reforms, Farmer members of FPO and SHG are going to be benefitted under national market by reduction in the role of intermediaries to increase the Producer’s share in consumer rupee and increased access to the credit by financial institutions which are linked to NAM platform, are going to facilitate the trading activities ofmembers of SHG and FPO. Market reform models in other countries like China’s model of E-commerce in agriculture market also fostered significant developments in the marketing system.
