India’s agricultural sector has always relied heavily on oilseeds. With an average yield of 1224 kg per hectare and a total production of 33.22 million tonnes, nine primary oilseed crops were grown on roughly 27.22 million hectares in India in 2019-20. However, the growing demand for edible oils has made large-scale imports necessary, resulting in a significant loss of foreign money. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to determine the area, production, and productivity status of oilseeds from 2010-11 to 2019-20. According to the report, three of the nine oilseed crops groundnut, rapeseed-mustard, and soybean account for 87.58 percent of the total acreage and 91.61 percent of the total oilseed production. The oilseed compound growth rate in area, production, and yield is found to be positive for the entire period. Because yield is the primary predictor of output, groundnut and soybean yields are the most unstable and so need special care.
