Abstract

Wheat is the world's most important cereal crop in terms of both area cultivated and amount of grain produced. In the realm of food crops in world, wheat (Triticum spp.) occupies the number one position. Large amount of sequence data (both genomic and proteomic) has been provided by various experiments but these sequences need to be annotated to find out their biological significance. Thus, in our study Sequence and Structure analysis of an uncharacterized protein has been carried out. For this protein sequence was retrieved from Uniprot. Sequence analysis revealed that the domains present in this protein acts as an enzyme that catalyzes chemical reactions via the bound cofactor. Apart from this several physio-chemical properties were also predicted which showed that this protein has molecular weight of 52383.0 Daltons and theoretical isoelectric point of 5.78. Further three dimensional structure was constructed using Modeller. Structural analysis revealed that the three dimensional structure contains three alpha helices with several beta sheets and various coils. Further functional analysis of three dimensional structure showed that total 27 active sites are present.
