The field experiment was conducted at Khalsa College, Amritsar on sandy loam soil, low in organic carbon and available nitrogen and high in available phosphorous and potassium during the rabi season 2016–17. The yield was higher in sole maize (51.7 q ha−1) but was at par with Maize+Pea75AP3, Maize+Pea50AP3 and Maize+Pea50GS10but significantly higher than Maize+pea100AP3), Maize+pea100GS_10 and Maize+Pea 75GS10. The pod yield was maximum in sole pea100GS_10 (65.4 q ha−1) and minimum in maize+pea50AP3(33.8 q ha−1). The highest maize equivalent yield (84.5 q ha−1) and land equivalent ratio (1.71) was observed with maize+pea100AP-3 in intercropping system. Highest net returns of Rs.67169 ha−1was in maize+pea50AP3intercropping.
