The study was done for determining the pollution contributing parameters in the groundwater quality of water in Haridwar district. The physico-chemical parameters were taken into consideration and based on the study, 10.53% of the water samples were clean, 84.21% under slightly polluted and 5.26% under moderately polluted. The parameters total dissolved solid, total hardness and electrical conductivity exceeds the permissible limits as per guidelines given by Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), World Health Organisation (WHO) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The pollution index of the area ranged between 0.99 to 4.32. In Bahadrabad, Bhagwanpur and Laksar block, proper waste water sewage management should be taken in order to limit the contagion of contaminant with the ground water.
