A Field experiments were carried out during kharif 2019 and 2020 at Agricultural Research Station, Binjhagiri, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, IAS, SOADU, Bhubaneswar, Odisha to study the growth and yield of rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties as influenced by nutrient management practices under irrigated-aerobic condition. The experiment was laid out in split plot design and consisted of three varieties (CR Dhan-205, Naveen and- Nirmal-150) in main plot and five practices of nutrient management (F, - Control, F2 - 40-20-20 N-P2O5-K2O kg ha−1, F3 -80-40-40 N-P2O5-K2O kg ha−1, F4- 120-60-60 N-P2O5- K2O kgha−1and F5- 160-80-80 N-P2O5-K2O kg ha−1) in subplot. CR Dhan 205, an aerobic rice variety, performed well and produced significantly the highest yield of grain (4.01 tha−1) and straw (5.3 tha−1).The increase in grain yield was associated with a significantly higher number of filled grains/panicle (107.7), Ear bearing tillers/m2(288.6), and test weight(23g). Among the nutrient management practices, F4 -120-60-60 N-P2O5-K2O kgha−1recorded highest grain (4.36 tha−1) and straw (5.86 tha−1) yield and it was at par with F3 -80-40-40 N-P2O5-K2O kg ha−1. The variety Naveen closely followed with CR Dhan 205.
