Abstract

This review highlights the significance of horticulture and legumes in global agriculture, alongside their future trends. Horticulture, integral to ensuring nutritious food and enhancing food security worldwide, is explored in terms of innovative techniques and initiatives such as the epivot project, aimed at improving vocational training and sustainability. Current trends emphasize advancements like soilless culture methods, genome editing, and precision farming. Legumes, recognized for their nutritional value and soil-enhancing properties, are experiencing renewed interest in the market. Future prospects involve leveraging technologies like internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) for resource management, genetic advancements, and climate adaptation. Despite challenges such as disease management and labor issues, opportunities for research and innovation abound, offering solutions to ensure sustainable horticultural development. Collaboration among stakeholders is pivotal for implementing climate-smart practices and realizing the full potential of horticulture and legumes in addressing global food challenges.
