Abstract

Orchids are traded around the world both as cut flowers and potted plants, and the market circulation is increasing along with a rise in the amount of trade. The smart farming, a subset of precision agriculture, is designed to control the suitable environments for the crops inside a greenhouse by using the minimum resources. It combines modern technologies (IoT) with agriculture to resolve problems for farmers. The Webcam application provided acceptable inputs for image processing. The LARS platform gave its best performance at an altitude of 1.2 m above canopy. One can use the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Deep Learning ANN to learn the image patterns of orchid leaf. With a suitable model, the accuracy of recognizing the leaf disease can be achieved up to 100%.A 3D orchid design program using 3ds MAX technology allows students to construct the appearance of an orchid that can be used as reference for the study of orchids, and for use in digital archives, to improve the competitiveness of orchid cultivation industryin international society. Androidapplication on orchids has been developed on Google play store for focussing orchid growers, entrepreneurs and stake holders. ImageJ is one of the popular image analysissoftwarse used for the phenotyping of the Zygopetalum orchids. Image based leaf area modeling in Dendrobium nobilecan be carried out for nondestructive leaf area estimation through utility software.
