Alternate Bearing is a pattern of large and small crops that occurs in many fruit species and is controlled by the plant internally. In fruit crops, alternate bearing appears to be linked to complicated interactions between vegetative and reproductive growth, and it varies by cultivar. The major event that sets the stage for crops output each year is flowering. The main event, regular flowering, determines reproductive success and production in perennial fruit crops. Different elements, including ambient conditions, genotypes, rootstocks, and cultural operations, can all influence future bearing. In perennial fruit crops, the phenomenon of erratic bearing is more prevalent. Flowering phenology must be controlled in order to ensure consistent and high-quality fruit production. Researchers’ comparative investigations on the physiological features of regular and irregular bearing in perennial fruit crops are useful in understanding the essence of flowering and discovering the regulatory elements that control regularity in bearing. Internal, genetic, carbohydrate resources and nutrition, or environmental, abiotic, and biotic stresses are classified in this review. This review article examines all factors in order to attain consistent success in inducing flowering in perennial fruit trees. The knowledge could pave the path for better blooming, shoot management and increased fruit output in the subtropics.
