The study was undertaken to analyze the production and economic efficiencies of summer chilli in Bhandara district of Maharashtra state. A total of 60 farmers from each tehsil of the three tehsils viz., Mohadi, Sakoli and Pawani were selected for data collection through personal interviews. The per hectare cost of cultivation for summer chilli was calculated ₹192514.58 at total cost (Cost C3), yielding 42.35 quintals and generating gross returns of ₹433028.75. The benefit-cost ratio was estimated at 2.25, indicating the profitability of summer chilli cultivation. The mean technical, economic and allocative efficiencies were found to be 91.58%, 74.17% and 68.81%, respectively, in summer chilli. The findings of the study highlights the opportunities for summer chilli farmers in subhumid tropical climate of centra India to enhance productivity, reduce costs and optimize resource allocation, leading to improved overall efficiency and competitiveness.
