Abstract

A farmer participatory field experiment was carried out by progressive farmers of Sohdih village of Nalanda district, Bihar to evaluate the effect of organic farming practices on growth yield and quality of Onion. Under course of trail miracle achievement expressed in this research through the organic practices regarding plant growth, bulb size (5.54 cm), bulb weight (72.65g) and onion bulb yield was harvested 660 q/ha compared to chemical fertilizers. As demand for organically grown food has been growing rapidly and significant proportion of consumers believe that organic food is qualitatively better than chemical farming, a field level demonstration trial was conducted and produces quantitatively higher yield that touched the world record production in Nalanda, Bihar.
