Development of economy begins with employment of its youth. Employment maybe in the form of wage-employment or self-employment. Among two later is always appreciable and acceptable worldwide. But countries like India where most of the students prefer wage employment over self-employment due to various reasons like economic, political and socio- cultural. In recent years due to various government policies, changing mindset and social acceptability of self-employment youth are turning towards entrepreneurship but with a low pace. Since innovation come from technology and it is supposed that student from this background will come forward with nov el ideas turning them product/services for healthy, wealthy and peaceful society with creation of employment. In India where thousands of engineers graduate every year but only few hundred are industries ready, while others have hesitation for entrepreneurship, why? This study is an effort to explore determinants of entrepreneurial orientation among Technocrats. The research is designed in such a way so that various dimensions can be explored including personal, social and academic. Identification of these factors will help to motivate technocrats for entrepreneurship in better way.
