The participation of women in the Zari Zardozi industry in Bareilly is examined in this research, with an emphasis on the roles, difficulties, and contributions that women make to this traditional craft sector. The study uses a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative analysis of socioeconomic variables with qualitative interviews with stakeholders and craftspeople of Zari Zardozi. The study investigates the socioeconomic factors influencing women’s participation in the sector, including their access to resources, ability to develop new skills, market opportunities, and economic empowerment, using in-depth interviews and surveys. The study also looks at the role of women as input in Zari Zardozi work and how it affects women’s identities and social standing. The study’s conclusions offer insightful information about the challenges and possibilities female artisans face in Bareilly’s Zari Zardozi market. They also suggest policy interventions and other measures to improve women’s participation, socioeconomic well-being, and empowerment in this traditional craft industry.
