Non-performing assets (NPAs) pose significant challenges to the stability and profitability of banks, impacting their financial health and overall economic growth. This paper presents a comparative analysis of the NPA Management policies of two leading banks in India: State Bank of India (SBI) and HDFC Bank. The analysis using a mixed method approach specifically based on secondary data, examines various aspects of NPA management, including institutional structure, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, debt restructuring, legal remedies, technological interventions, customer engagement, and performance outcomes. Through a detailed exami nation of the strategies and practices employed by SBI and HDFC Bank, this study aims to identify similarities, differences, strengths, and challenges in their approaches to NPA recovery.
