Abstract

Diatoms are being used excessively as a forensic tool for the confirmation of death due to drowning or homicidal. Twenty cases referred to the Haryana FSL, ave ebee examined in the present study. The ssudy revealed that out of 20 cases 13 cases of death here confirmed due to drowning, whereas in 7 cases sf death were negative to the drowning, indicating that these 7 cases were of dumping of body into river after homicide.
