Fatal oral potassium dichromate poisoning a case report

Oral ingestion of potassium dichromate produces a complex spectrum ofcomplications. It has extremely poor prognosis and usually leads to rapid death. We report a case of 45 year oldmale screen printing andphotographic worker who was admitted in our hospital after oral ingestion of about 25mg of potassium dichromate dissolved in 200ml of water with suicidal intention. The patient developed renal failure, hepatic injury and gastrointestinal hemorrhage and subsequently died.
