Abstract

In the present investigation genomic DNA has been extracted from dried blood stains using manual organic extraction procedure by eliminating the use of phenol in order to make it safe and useful in forensic science investigation cases. The quality of extracted DNA was determined by means of agarose gel electrophoresis and it is noted that DNA can be isolated from dried blood stains without using phenol in extraction procedure. It is also observed that environmental conditions do not effect DNA extraction procedure upto the period of analysis as observed in this investigation that is three months.
