Twenty-first century has experienced the most rapid decline in the mortality, which can be attributed to high quality medical care, better hygiene and nutritional awareness etc. according to United Nations, Population Division by 2045 – 50 the world's life expectancy would reach to 76 yrs. Credit certainly goes to developed countries with expected life expectancy to be 82.1 yrs. Developing country like India would also be not far behind with expected life expectancy to be 75 yrs. Common causes of death are also showing transition from communicable to non communicable and stress related causes. This study mainly deals with common causes of death and there trends related to sex and age. Cardiac (including vascular), head and abdominal injuries due to road traffic accident and burn are the common causes of death. Males are more prone to stress related cause like cardiac while females are more prone to unnatural cause like Burn.
