Abstract

Medical jurisprudence is an important aspect of medical practice. An ignorance of law is no excuse (ignorantia juris non excusat). Recent amendments in the Criminal procedure code 1973 and Indian Penal Code 1860 have modified the role of the medical practitioner in legal system. This article seeks to highlight this modified role of medical practioner in medical examination of victim of sexual assault in view of these recent amendment.
