Abstract

The present article describes the potential utility of Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy in the analysis of some common antidepressants having abuse potential. Although the spectra are complex yet it does not cause any interference in interpretation and identification can be established. The present method is rapid, non destructive and no extensive sample preparation is required.
