Abstract

Study of lip prints is called cheiloscopy. Lip prints is an unique factor for every individual. Most of the forensic medical experts don't give importance for lip prints, but forensic odontologists do1.

It is one of the method for personal identification like age estimation, blood groups, sex determination, finger prints and height estimation. Lip prints proved to be successful in crime investigation2.

Lip prints can play a vital role in identification of suspect and victim also. Lip prints play crucial role in forensic investigation except in monozygotic twins3. Personal identification plays a vital role in forensic investigation10
