Fatal isolated homicidal anterior tibial artery injury: A case report

Abstract

A 43year old person was attacked by his friend after they engaged in the quarrel as later suspecting him as a police informer. The wound started bleeding profusely and he died on reaching the hospital. At autopsy a single fatal wound of the anterior tibial artery was found. Although peripheral vascular injuries were common, to the authors’ knowledge isolated fatal homicidal tibial artery has not been reported in the forensic literature.
