Autopsy Study of fetuses was carried out to study Lanugo and Nails in relation to viability and maturity. Nails reach the tip of finger at about 36 weeks and between 36 and 40 weeks they project beyond the tips of the finger. Lanugo is abundant at 28 weeks and at 36 weeks was present only over shoulder or was absent.
