In Toxicology a case of poisoning by Loban has not been reported so far. Loban is a dried resin of a plant. Commonly used as a fumigant and constituent of many Unani medicines. Two patients were admitted in Hindu Rao Hospital, after being given Loban mixed with alcohol, as “prasad”. The patients died within two hours of ingestion of this poison. Chemicalanalysis confirmed presence of Loban in the Viscera and the container used to give the said “prasad”.
