An eight year retrospective study of victims of sexual offences in Southern Orissa

Southern Orissa comprises of undivided Districts of Ganjam, Koraput, Kalahandi and Phulbani. Victims of rape cases from all districts coming for medical examination to the Deptt. of F. M. & T., M. K. C. G. Medical College, Berhampur were studied and is presented in this paper. The duration of study was from 1987 to 1994. The total number of victims were 175 and accused were 115. The study comprises of age, evidence of sex-act in relation to remote and recent sexual act, socio-economic and educartonal status of victims and out come of rape and they are presented in a tabular manner.
