The evaluation of ante mortem and post mortem haematological changes and colonization trend of microorganisms in Sprague dawley Ratsin three manners of death

Blood changes and microorganism colonization trend of Sprague Dawley rats in both ante mortem and post mortem were studied to determine the manners of death. Blood samples and oral swabs were obtained before and after death of the rats to study. Blood samples obtained were subjected to a morphological and parameter observation, while oral swabs are subjected to a conventional bacteriologic culture and identification method alongside with a comparison to 0.8C of MacFarland Standard solution. Individual pure colonies were sub cultured on Blood and MacConkey agar to determine colonization trend. Haematological changes were noticeable. Thus, this study is able to provide critical information in identifying manners of death.
