Aedes albopictus is known to be a vector of many infectious diseases which are mostly endemic in Malaysia. This study aimed to determine the larvicidal effect of Pelargonium radula plant extract against Ae. albopictus larvae. The larvicidal effect ofAe. albopictus larvae were investigated with different concentrations of Pelargonium radula leaf extract. Behavioral observation of larvae showed that during the first 30 minutes of exposure, the larvae showed ring-coiled movement. After 24 hours of exposure, the larvae sunk down to the bottom of the beaker and died. Morphological observation showed structural changes on some parts of the body of the larvae. The increased percentage of mortality of the larvae is dependant on the toxicity of Pelargonium radula leaf extract. In conclusion, the study suggests Pelargonium radula leaf is a promising larvicidal agent against Ae. albopictus larvae.
