Abstract

Footprint is a key physical evidence to solve the mystery in forensic investigation. Stature determination from footprint can ease the investigation in person identification whenever footprint is found in crime scenes. Hence the present investigation was planned to derive population specific regression equations to determine stature from footprint measurements among Kagay-anon population in Philippines. The study sample consists of consented 200 males and 200 females and recorded footprint and stature measurements and data were analysed statistically. The study developed population specific equations to estimate stature from hand anthropometry applicable only to Kagayanon population in Philippines for forensic application.
