Human filamin are large actin-binding proteins and give mechanical force to cells by binding to actin filaments forming bundles or gel networks. There are three isoforms FLNA, FLNB and FLNC. Each isoforms consist of an N-terminal actin binding domain (ABB) and 24 repeated immunoglobulin Ig-like rod domains. Identifying metal binding sites is important for investigating a protein function and its interactions. In this study, metal binding sites were predicted for human filamin isoforms. The results suggest that filamin isoforms contain copper and cobalt ion as frequent occurrence as binding sites. This study will be helpful for further characterization of filamin protein and also for design of construct.
