The aim of this study was to determine relationship between body mass index and intraocular pressure among young adults. The right eyes of 30 healthy subjects aged between 19–30 years were assessed with Goldmann Applanation Tonometer (GAT) to measure Intraocular Pressure (IOP). Body Mass Index (BMI) was obtained using standard measurement. The mean and standard deviation of IOP and BMI are 16.73 ± 3.53 mmHg and 26.17 ± 9.33 kg/m² respectively. This study also found significant strong correlation between BMI and IOP (r=0.725, p=0.000). A comparison using one way between groups ANOVA showed significant changes of IOP across BMI categories (p=0.000). Therefore, obesity is potentially risk factor for the increment of Intraocular Pressure (IOP).
