Writings on various surfaces - a case study

Examination of writings on conventional surfaces written with pen/pencil are usual cases which are dealt by Questioned Document Examiner, but examination of documents on unconventional surfaces (wall, wood, cloth, metal etc.) written with unconventional writing instruments (cosmetics, water color, body fluids, sharp object etc.) are rare & has their own challenges & limitations as the standard writings are usually present on conventional surface like paper. There are various other factors apart from availability of writing instruments or writing surface which lead to the writings on unconventional surfaces such as various moods of a person, to show the presence of oneself on the crime scene, to defame, to take revenge, to give signals etc. The present case shows the examination of writings on various unusual surfaces found in single crime scene and their examination and comparison with the standard writings of the deceased.
