The incidents of criminal activities involving firearms is up surging steeply. Tattooing is a noteworthy phenomenon which is caused by nitrite particles and unburnt propellant particles in close range firing. The present research describes analysis of Unburnt Smokeless Powder Particles Present Around Gun Shot Holes in Clothes for various Organic Additives in Estimation of Range of Firing using Walker test followed by Gas Chromatography -Mass Spectroscopy for the presence of organic constituents like ethyl centralite, diphenylamine etc. These tests were conducted around gun-shot holes in clothes and it is found that the tests for the presence of unburnt propellant particles permits estimation of range of firing up to a distance larger than that estimated by presence of nitrite particles.
