Bisphenol A is mainly found in day-to-day products like canned food containers, packaged drinking water bottles, water pipes etc., can induce toxicity in humans. Bisphenol A enters the human system by the migration from these products. It mainly acts as an endocrine disruptor and affects the reproductive health of humans by causing Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome in women and decreasing the sperm count and sperm quality in men. It also affects the liver by increasing the load on liver to detoxify Bisphenol A thereby causing vascular congestion and hepatic sinusoid dilation. While previous studies showed that the effect of BPA on kidneys is not significant but there are studies that suggest otherwise. It also affects the brain development and cause neurological disorders. Bisphenol A has also been shown to be a factor in developing obesity, cardiovascular diseases.
