This paper presents a mini review on breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices among mothers of young children as an evaluative focus on demography and practices and the impact of nutrition education intervention of breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices among mothers of young children in the Maldives. Gaps in practices were noted and the implementation or effectiveness of the infant feeding policies instated the Maldivian government previously should be further reviewed to ensure the health of children and infants in the country are managed well for the health of future generations. The paper concludes based on the importance of designing intervention studies carried out which in Maldives may imperatively impact nutrition education intervention programs carried out nationwide. As such intervention study will enable policy makers to amend the current policies or to develop new policies to enhance the wellbeing of the children of the Maldives. It will also help achieve the sustainable developmental goals laid out by the Maldivian health ministry. These leads to reducing malnutrition of young children in the country and to ensure robust healthy generation thrives from implementation of such policies.
