The analysis of the lip sensations is alluded to as Cheiloscopy. Lip imprint patterns are distinctive and peculiar, and they are increasingly being used in forensic investigations for personal recognition. At this stage in its growth, cheiloscopy is more likely to turn into a method for criminalistics identifiable proof handling lip prints. This research was carried out to better understand the difference in lip prints among family members.
About 200 people from 50 families from the north Indian starting point populace participated in the study. Every family's father, mother, son, and daughter were chosen. Lip impressions were collected using lipstick & transparent adhesive tape, the models proposed by Suzuki and Tsuchihashi were utilized to distribute lip impression patterns in this study.
The majority of the participants (29.2%) have a type-III lip print pattern, while the least number of participants (9.2%) have a type V lip print pattern. Lip print patterns are sometimes hereditary, as evidenced by the fact that 73.3 percent of parents’ lip print patterns resembled those of their children, while 26.7 percent of parents’ lip print patterns did not.
Lip print patterns varied between family members in this research, proving that the lip print patterns are distinctive and have individual characteristics. Lip print patterns can be inherited, but are not identical to anyone else's.
