Workplace Violence against doctors and other staff is not a new phenomenon and has global dimensions. The reports of doctors getting thrashed by patients and their relatives are making headlines around the world and are shared extensively on social media. All health care providers are worried about violence at his/her workplace, and few are trained to avoid or deal with such situations. This article aims to review the possible reasons for such violence against doctors and staff and discusses the possible steps at a personal, institutional, and governmental level as remedies to mitigate such episodes.
