While there was a time frame where fingerprints have given a great importance in solving crimes, currently footprints (2D foot impression) shown to be reliable evidence in forensic investigation. So forensic academicians are showing interest in footprint research and journal publications. No research was carried out on Malaysian Indian sub-ethnic Telugu populationon stature determination from 2D foot impression, evidence normally found in homicide, burglary and sexual assault crime scenes. Therefore, the present study designed to develop standards to determine stature of Malaysian Telugu population using 2D foot impression. Statureand foot impression/footprint (2D) were collected from 140 volunteers (73 males and 67 females) from west Malaysia with age ranged from 18 to 60 years old. The data were statistically analysed with SPSS software. The results were presented in the form of tables and graphs. The study showed the existence positive correlation between stature and footprint (2D)length measurements. The correlation coefficient (R) values in pooled samples are found to be higher (0.721–0.768) followed by males (0.572–0.645) and females (0.413–0.632). This study showed that the population specific regression models derived can be used in predicting the stature of Malaysian Telugus from footprint (2D) measurements.
