Concept of medical malpractice among egyptian physicians and their attitude to medical errors through their ethical knowledge

When one of the medical entities directly injures a patient as a result of a careless act or omission, this is known as medical malpractice (the failure to act). The majority of mistakes made by medical practitioners on patients are classified as medical errors, but they do not always rise to the level of medical malpractice. The study's goal was to evaluate the concept of medical malpractice and how physicians in the Beni-Suef governorate evaluate the problem, as well as whether age and experience changed attitudes toward medical malpractice, and whether they reported medical malpractice and were aware of the legal processes. In the present study, questioners were completed by 387 physicians. Approximately two-third of the participants were males (62.3%), and (22.2%) were surgeons. We found that (18.1%) of the participants were personally involved in an incident of medical error or malpractice, one third (39.5%) have witnessed at least one incident. Doing nothing was the most common reaction.
