The aim was to compare palmar dermatoglyphic patterns in Criminal and Control groups.
This design was a case-control study.
Participants for control group were volunteers and for Criminals group prints were obtained from Fingerprint Bureau. The study was conducted on 100 subjects of each group.
Complete hand prints obtained from both hands by the traditional ink method were examined. On palms, patterns occurring on ID area, Thenar area and hypothenar area were described. The data was entered on excel sheets.
Presence of more patterns in palms of criminal group than in the control group
Dermatoglyphics is an economical tool for predictive analysis to detect criminal tendency at an early age.
