Dental age estimation standards are used in juvenile cases, mass disaster, illegal immigration, child marriage, underage employment or certain cases where chronological age is unknown. Dental age standards involveage estimation through visual methods, radiographic assessments, clinical assessments, biochemical as well as histological methods.
The present study is formulated to ascertain the applicability of modified Demirjian method age estimation on children of Haryana population, India. The sample size for the study involves radiographs of 400 healthy children aged between 9 to 16 years.
A strong correlation found in Haryana children between dental age estimation and chronological age with minimal error proves that the method is applicable on Haryana population.
