Abstract

Any physical scene, anyplace, that may yield possible evidence to an investigator is considered a crime scene. It can include a person's body, any form of structure, cars, open-air environments, or anything found there. As a result, a “crime scene examination” is one in which forensic or scientific procedures are utilized to preserve and collect tangible evidence of a crime. Crime reconstruction, on the other hand, is a forensic science subject in which one obtains “specific knowledge of the sequence of events that surround the commission of a crime utilizing logical and inductive reasoning, physical evidence, scientific methodologies, and their interrelationships”. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are two growing sectors in the digital world that can be applied to crime scene reconstruction. Because the reconstruction of a crime scene is one of the most important elements in the investigation of a specific crime during a trial, it became critical for an investigator to perform it quickly and accurately, avoiding any mistakes. The methodologies utilized for crime scene reconstruction need to be digitized in the present situation.
