The study was conducted in the Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology in which 150 cases were included out of 400 autopsy cases. The mean age of the study was 37.7 years with maximum cases falling in the group of 30 45 years. The ratio of male & female cases was 78 % to 22%. Out of 150 cases 85 % were with no chronic illness. The histopathology changes such as congestion and hemorrhage, Cortical hyperplasia, & Cortical atrophy were more commonly observed in cases without chronic illness. However, it is not statically significant. Among the various causes of death included in the study majority was of RTA amounting to 42.7%. On comparison the histopathology changes with causes of death Congestion & Hemorrhage was more in the natural cause whereas Cortical hyperplasia & Atrophy were more in the females (2 4%). Congestion & Hemorrhage was more common (64%) where the duration of survival was >24 hours and it was statistically significant.
