The comparison of tear strength for different impression material

Abstract

This is a review the literatures about tear strengths in the dental impression materials and to view all impression materials and their advantages and disadvantages. We reviewed classification, stages and strengths of tear of impression materials. Tear strengths represent the major problems and limitations of dental impression materials. Several impression material have different levels of tear strength properties. Impression materials that have high tear strengths may be not superior to those with low tear strengths. Silicone materials have the highest tear strengths than hybrid and polyether materials.
