Abstract

This study focus on find out the anticancer potential of nanosuspension of ethanolic extracts of leaves of Asparagus racemosus by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-thiazole-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide i.e. MTT bio-assay and 1,2-Dimethylhydrazine i.e. DMH induced colon cancer method. In vitro anticancer activity of nanosuspension was evaluated using colon cancer cell lines HT-29 (human colorectal adenocarcinoma) cell line and HCT-15 (large intestine of a male Dukes) cell line. The in-vivo assay was performed using1,2-Dimethylhydrazine (DMH) induced colon cancer for 24 weeks. The nanosuspension has shown potent anticancer activity on H-29 and HTC 15 cell lines. It shows good cell viability and more IC50 with both the cell lines. The nanosuspension also shows potent anticancer activity in in-vivo study. It shows increased life span of the animal when compared to the DMH control. The nanosuspension of Asparagus racemosus was studied for invitro and In vivo evaluation methods and shown potent anticancer activity on selected cancerous cell lines in both the method.
