Abstract

In our society, the drug misuse/abuse and illicit drug trafficking are the maladaptive practices responsible for the darkest future of the young. The main business of drug trafficking typically operates on a vicious cycle of demand followed by supply. To curb the menace, there should be a substantial insight into the reasons behind the elevated demand for illicit drugs in Haryana. To depict the status of drug abuse in India with special reference to Haryana, data from the legal organizations such as the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and digital platforms of databases including google scholar, PubMed, and few other websites have been meticulously explored. This article focuses on and discusses the reasons behind the progressive menace and the viable solution to dismantle the trafficking network from a forensic perspective in Haryana.
